The origins trace back to March 8 in 1857 when New York garment workers protested against inhumane working conditions and low wages. Fast forward almost 170 years and our digitally connected world enables women from around the globe to share their stories and consider progress through that years theme. 2025 is #AccelerateAction
From our LIONZ Co-chairs Emma Lacey & Jillian Lee:
Let's all take this opportunity to celebrate the women in our lives; whether it's a colleague you admire or has supported you,
a junior colleague you can support, or just simply an important woman in your life (Mums, sisters, wives)
We would love to hear how you are celebrating International Women's Day... Go out and be great!
Stay tuned for our next LIONZ newsletter (coming out soon!) where we celebrated some amazing LIONZ wāhine & of course we hope to see many of you at LIONZ Forum 2025 in Dunedin 7-8 June
