Regarded as the first orthopaedic surgeon in NZ but after shifting to Australia he was imprisoned & it seems not always welcomed by colleagues...
Initially the NZOA application for registration was rejected as being too similar in name to the NZ Orthotic Association, but eventually the decision was reversed & in 1982 the NZOA became an incorporated society.
